Masakazu (Masa) Watanabe is a member of the firm’s Financial Service Practice, providing strategic and value-added consulting expertise in executive search, management assessment and management development. Masa has more than five years of experience in conducting numerous repeat search assignments for dozens of leading global financial institutions for CEO, country manager, senior managerial positions as well as executive positions for private equity and venture capital operations in Asia. He has also completed various management assessment projects for pre-merger and post-merger due diligence in Japan.
Previous Experience Masa previously held leadership positions as a senior financial and investment officer at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C, and before that, served as a Senior Vice President with GE Capital’s Kidder Peabody and Salomon Brothers as an investment banker in M&A and corporate finance arena. He also worked at the Mitsubishi Corporation and is the author of Asian Housing Finance (1998) and Bank Debenture Markets (1994), both from the World Bank Publications.
Education Masa earned an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Business at Cornell University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Hitotsubashi University.
