Derek Hu serves the Consumer, Fashion, Retail & Luxury Goods sector with over 13 years experience. He has conducted high-level searches for a variety of Consumer, IT and Financial clients including Chanel, Columbia Tristar/Sony Pictures, Pepsi International, Louis Vuitton, Johnson and Johnson,Walt Disney Interactive, and Deustche Bank. His search assignments include: Head of PR, Head of Marketing, Head of Sales /Distribution, COO, CFO, and GM/MD.  Derek’s Finance search assignments include: Head of Risk Management, Head of Project Finance, AVP, and VP Corporate Finance.

Previous Experience
Before joining A.T. Kearney Executive Search, Derek served as Human Resources Director for Icon Medialab Asia Ltd based in Hong Kong and Shanghai. There, he was responsible for providing HR support and leadership as well as advising on business strategy, change management and succession planning for the growth of the Asia Pacific organizations. Previously, Derek was Business Development Manager for an American company based in New York, assessing potential partners for Asian production and negotiating buying contracts for retail manufacturing agreements in China and Thailand. He also served as a Consultant with Monitor Consulting Group based in Los Angeles.

Derek earned a B.A. in English from the University of California at Los Angeles.
